What a Difference a Day Makes

The changes by the various government departments in Dubai and the UAE have helped show the world that the governance within the country is efficient, capable and transparent.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai is very much a ‘hands-on’ person and has no qualms about visiting government offices any time of the day to ensure that his exacting standards are met.

By the same token, rules and regulations are often changed overnight (although obviously, some thought has gone into these) which can be rather frustrating. These changes are usually beneficial to the procedures and processes and should be welcomed with open arms!

Just as an example, for a number of years we’ve heard talk on the streets of ‘100% foreign ownership’ but only very recently were the changes made and now, officially, some licenses and activities, but not all, will fall into this bracket. Eligibility  is scrutinised and the criteria is not always easy to work through/understand, however, help is at hand here at Dubai Documents.  13 industry sectors and 122 activities within these sectors are covered.  Please note that this refers to mainland companies and not free-zone companies. We’ll cover free-zone companies in another blog.
